These formulations were developed to protect our collective bodies from a radically changing world and encourage shared capacity for collective creativity, experimentation, and transformation.
As the largest organ in the human body, the skin performs many essential functions that help ensure our well-being. Of these, the most important is providing protection against the multitude of harmful stressors we encounter every day. As vital beings, each of us has the right to nurture ourselves and defend against the effects of environmental toxins and inflammatory agents. The INDEX movement stresses the importance of sharing experiences and engaging in a collective examination of our everyday lives and problems. Through consciousness-raising and the refusal to separate politics from our bodies, we create forms of organization that build trust and demonstrate that our strength is rooted in our mutual solidarity. INDEX seeks to aid in your SELF CARE INTERVENTION by providing a nourishing boundary to both protect and unite our collective beings.
We must not forget that we come to the movement with many scars and fears. We must not forget that all of us bear on our bodies and minds the marks of living within overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination and disadvantage. The promise of joy comes from the exercise of reason and understanding across divergent spheres of experience. As we trust in science-based models, we yet look to older, non-binary biological models for a deeper level of knowledge and inspiration that can facilitate our health and communication not just around the globe but across geologic time scales.
INDEX Formulations is committed to protect our collective bodies from a radically changing world and encourage shared capacity for collective creativity, experimentation, and transformation.
INDEX carefully selects ingredients sourced from plants and minerals to facilitate conscious awareness of the connections between external environments and internal states of well-being.

The INDEX movement stresses the importance of sharing experiences and engaging in a collective examination of our everyday lives and problems.
INDEX Formulations creates a distributed network of connected bodies through shared materiality and collective action who are focused on emergent health at a global scale.
INDEX Formulations are free of sensitizing ingredients including harsh preservatives, fragrances, gluten, and petroleum-based products.
INDEX supports innovation and experimentation in safe spaces. Our ingredients are tested in labs, not on you. We turn to peer-reviewed scientific observation to guide the selection of our actives and believe in making the research available to our comrades.
INDEX recognizes that before they are combined into our formulations, all of our ingredients have been removed from their natural environment. We try to select ingredients that are gentle on the delicate systems whose destabilization is threatening our planet.
INDEX selects packaging that utilizes renewable and recyclable materials. We use the least amount of plastic while maintaining the stability of our most sensitive actives.
INDEX respects all forms of life. We use vegan ingredients and never test our products on animals.
Expand the network of committed bodies.
Develop localized nodes (distribution centers) that can bring the collective bodies together and reduce carbon emissions.
Design packaging and delivery systems to provide 100% reusable/refillable packages.
Incorporate production systems that promote shared governance and collaborations between all elements to provide safe joyful employment and living wages at every step of the production chain.
Continue innovation and research across disciplines to deliver safe effective products that redefine themselves as new data emerges.
